Clinical Networks Representation

Clinical Networks are an initiative of Queensland Health to engage clinicians and consumers in decision making about clinical services planning and implementation, clinical practice improvement and quality and safety enhancements.

General Practice Queensland currently provides representation to a range of Clinical Networks outlined below:

Queensland Health Statewide Dementia Clinical Network
Description

The purpose of the Statewide Dementia Clinical Network is to:

  • Improve the quality of dementia services
  • Develop an open and supportive environment for clinicians and other government and non-government personnel involved in the care of dementia patients
  • Foster education and research

 Queensland Health Statewide Diabetes Clinical Network
Description The Statewide Diabetes Clinical Network was established in 2005. The Network provides expertise and strategic direction to the Queensland Health Executive in relation to diabetes.

Queensland Health Statewide Renal Clinical Network
Description A Statewide Renal Clinical Network of interested clinicians has been operating for some time. A Steering Committee was convened to manage the Network’s activities and to provide scope and prioritisation for identified issues in the management of chronic kidney disease in Queensland.
 
As a member of the Steering Committee of this Network, GPQ aims to share relevant information from membership with other Networks, to create linkages within the chronic disease sector and to feedback back on Clinical Network activities to divisions of general practice.

Queensland Health Statewide Respiratory Clinical Network
Description The Statewide Respiratory Clinical Network has recently been formed following the expansion of the Statewide COPD Clinical Network. The purpose of the Network is to provide expertise, direction and advice in relation to respiratory issues within Queensland.

Queensland Health Statewide Child and Youth Clinical Network
Description

The purpose of the Child and Youth Clinical Network is to:

  • Improve the quality and safety of care to patients; and
  • Provide expertise, direction and advice to the Queensland Health Executive in the area of child and youth health including standards, planning, research and clinical information systems.

 Queensland Health Maternity and Neonatal Clinical Network
Description The purpose of the Maternity and Neonatal Clinical Network is to:
  • Provide high level specialist clinical advice; and

Queensland Health Statewide Cardiac Clinical Network
Description The Statewide Cardiac Clinical Network was established in 2006. The Network advises, guides and directs Queensland Health and the Queensland Government on a range of cardiac service issues and activities across Queensland.

Description The purpose of the General Medicine Clinical Network is to:
