Data Quality

Data Quality Group

In addition to the eHealth Steering Group which provides overall strategic advice and direction in eHealth, a new Queensland Data Quality Group (DQG) is also operational.

The DQG comprises of key General Practice Network and Medicare Local  program coordinators and is chaired by a division CEO and evolved from the Data Collection Working Group which was formed in 2008.

This DQG meets bi-monthly with the first meeting held in February 2010.

The Data Collection Working Group identified four key priorities, including:
  • a standardised electronic survey (GP Census);
  • training for the  GP Census;
  • a data portal; and
  • a data quality framework.
Please click here to view the Terms of Reference for the DQG with an initial focus on developing a data quality guide.  This group will also liaises with the AGPN Data Quality Working Group (DQWG) to ensure close alignment of priorities and the development of complementary initiatives.

Data Quality Guide

To assist General Practice Networks and Medicare Locals with data quality activities, GPQ and the Data Quality Group have developed a new Data Quality Guide

The Data Quality Guide aims to provide a series of principles that underpin data quality, and a series of steps and tools that can be applied with general practices with the aim of improving data quality.

Information Management Maturity Framework (IMMF)

The Information Management Maturity Framework (IMMF) is a management tool for internal use within General Practice Networks and Medicare Locals to help develop information management (IM) plans for continuous improvement in capacity, linked to divisional program service delivery priorities and business opportunities.

This framework has been developed specifically for use by General Practice Networks and Medicare Locals  in Australia.

If your General Practice Network or Medicare Local would like to undertake an IMMF, please contact David Millichap, Senior Program Leader - eHealth at GPQ.
