| Description | The National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission was established by the Prime Minister and the Minister for Health and Ageing on February 25, 2008. The Commission has been established to develop a long term health reform plan for a modern Australia. The Commission is chaired by Dr Christine Bennett, current Chief Medical Officer of BUPA Australia Ltd who is supported by nine other Commissioners. The Commission received over 500 submissions in early April 2008 that helped to inform the preparation of the Commissions Interim Report – A Healthier Future for All Australians. Feedback was then invited by the Commission on this Interim Report and GPQ again provided a submission. In June 2009, a Final Report from the Commission was provided to the Minister for Health and Ageing for consideration |

| Description | This position paper clarifies the views of the Queensland GP Alliance in relation to the establishment of bulk billing GP clinics in, or near, Public Hospital Emergency Departments. Further to this, it proposes a number of principles that need to be considered when looking at locating acute primary care type services in, or near, Public Hospitals. Fundamentally, the provision of primary care services in acute hospital settings should not compete with well-trained and credentialed doctors working in accredited general practice settings providing the full scope of primary care services. |

| Description | Divisions network has begun to discuss how it may be possible to apply models of targeted resource management at a division based level to a range of health or geographic areas across the state. Targeted resource management is considered by the Queensland Divisions to provide an opportunity to develop a more integrated health care system focused on improved population health outcomes and designed around patient needs. |
