Title Feedback: National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission Interim Report (March 2009)
Description The National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission was established by the Prime Minister and the Minister for Health and Ageing on February 25, 2008. The Commission has been established to develop a long term health reform plan for a modern Australia. The Commission is chaired by Dr Christine Bennett, current Chief Medical Officer of BUPA Australia Ltd who is supported by nine other Commissioners.

The Commission received over 500 submissions in early April 2008 that helped to inform the preparation of the Commissions Interim Report – A Healthier Future for All Australians. Feedback was then invited by the Commission on this Interim Report and GPQ again provided a submission.

In June 2009, a Final Report from the Commission was provided to the Minister for Health and Ageing for consideration

Title Joint submission to the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission (July 2008)
Description The National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission was established by the Prime Minister and the Minister for Health and Ageing on February 25, 2008. Title The Role of Divisions in Primary Health Care in Queensland Discussion Paper (September 2007)
Description This statement is the Queensland Divisions Network’s vision for the role of divisions of general practice in primary health care in Queensland. It includes an outline of the current and future role of divisions in developing and implementing primary health care services in Queensland, as well as some suggestions for advancing the Queensland primary health care reform agenda.

Description This statement is the Queensland Divisions Network’s vision for the role of divisions of general practice in primary health care in Queensland. As well as primary health care, divisions are integrally involved in building a better health system with other sectors, including the acute and tertiary health care sectors. This statement focuses on primary health care.

Title Queensland Divisions Network Position Statement on Information Management in General Practice (February 2007)
Description The purpose of this position statement is to develop clear priorities for the Divisions Network and to find areas of focus for IM/ICT investments. It articulates a vision, principles and key directions moving forward in Queensland. Factors such as corporate culture, receptivity to change and current effectiveness of IT support of the general practice business are important considerations.

The preceding background paper and RHIMO visits to divisions has helped inform this draft position statement.

Title International Medical Graduates – Quality, Standards, and Support Position Statement (June 2005)
Description This paper has been developed in acknowledgement of the significant amount of work required to define the processes, legalities, and funding elements necessary for the issues described to be suitably executed. This work will need to be progressed with State medical registration boards, Colleges, workforce agencies, Divisions of General Practice, Australian Medical Association, Rural Doctors Association of Australia and Governments.

Title The Queensland Divisions Network and Policy Development (February 2005)
Description This agreed policy outlines the policy development process for the Queensland Divisions Network.

The Queensland divisions play a key role in providing expertise and input into discussion papers and position statements.

The strength of this policy development process is in the input and ownership of the issue by all Queensland divisions.
The paper developed and endorsed by the Queensland Divisions Network in 2005 and reviewed and endorsed again in June 2007.

Title Bulk Billing Clinics in or near Hospital Emergency Departments
Description This position paper clarifies the views of the Queensland GP Alliance in relation to the establishment of bulk billing GP clinics in, or near, Public Hospital Emergency Departments.

Further to this, it proposes a number of principles that need to be considered when looking at locating acute primary care type services in, or near, Public Hospitals. Fundamentally, the provision of primary care services in acute hospital settings should not compete with well-trained and credentialed doctors working in accredited general practice settings providing the full scope of primary care services.

Description This position paper clarifies the views of Queensland divisions in relation to fundholding, to enable future activity both within the Divisions Network and in collaboration with external stakeholders.

Title Fundholding and Targeted Resource Management Background Paper - DRAFT (March 2004)
Description Divisions network has begun to discuss how it may be possible to apply models of targeted resource management at a division based level to a range of health or geographic areas across the state.

Targeted resource management is considered by the Queensland Divisions to provide an opportunity to develop a more integrated health care system focused on improved population health outcomes and designed around patient needs.
