The provision of advocacy for the Queensland Divisions’ Network and general practice is a pivotal role for General Practice Queensland (GPQ).
By working with the Network, GPQ provides an influential voice on behalf of general practice in an effort to inform or influence policy.
Advocacy work undertaken by GPQ acknowledges that stronger integration and support for the primary care sector will impact the overall cost effectiveness and healthy outcomes for the entire Queensland community and health systems.
The advocacy and policy priorities for GPQ include:
- Sustaining, enhancing and advocating for the capacity of general practice to deliver improved health outcomes;
- Leading and shaping health policy at all levels of government in order to improve health outcomes; and
- Deliberately guiding decisions makers to achieve outcomes for the Queensland Divisions Network.
