Queensland Divisions Profile
Since July 2009, GPQ has been producing six monthly ‘Division Profiles’. These profiles provide comprehensive information from a range of data sets including demographics, primary care workforce, health service utilisation, disease prevention and management and Divisions National Performance Indicators. In October 2010, GPQ also published the first state wide 'Queensland Profile'. This profile provides an overview of key health indicators in Queensland. The indicators have been selected on the basis of their availability and their relevance to primary health care. They provide a useful snapshot and a means of monitoring trends rather than being definitive measures themselves.

How can I create an MBS statistical report?
- If you would like to create a statistical report for specific item numbers, visit MBS Item Statistics Reports.
- If you would like to create a statistical report for your divisions, visit MBS Division Statistics Reports.
| Step 1 |
Under ‘Area’ have a look at the drop down menu and select the name of the division you want the statistics for. You may notice that some divisions go by previous names. |
| Step 2 |
Under ‘Report On’ select Medicare information. |
| Step 3 |
Then MBS groups and items. |
| Step 4 |
By time period. |
| Step 5 | ‘Time period’ quarter. |
| Step 6 | Start date – we compare 12 month periods using the latest available quarter. For example, if the latest release was Quarter 2 2010, you select Q2 2009 to Q2 2010. |
| Step 7 |
Select Create Report |
| Step 8 | Select the MBS category (most of ours will be 1-Professional Attendances or 8-Miscellaneous). |
| Step 9 | Then click on the subgroup you are looking for. |
| Step 10 | The relevant item numbers will appear. If you require only 1 item number, click the item number hyperlink and download when instructed to Excel. If you require all the relevant item numbers presented, just download to Excel. |
| Step 11 | You can then cut and paste the Excel material as appropriate. |
| Step 12 |
File-close to remove the Excel display. |
