Reduce bowel cancer risk

Learn how to reduce your bowel cancer risk.

Your diet and lifestyle play an important role in your bowel health.  Keep your bowels healthy by:

  • Maintaining a diet high in fibre and low in fat
  • Eating nutritious diet including five serves of vegetables and two serves of fruits per day
  • Maintaining a healthy body weight
  • Participating in moderate to vigorous levels of physical activity for 30 to 60 minutes per day
  • Not smoking
  • Avoiding or limiting your alcohol consumption (two standard drinks per day)
